In addition to being an active performer, Keely has been teaching private voice and piano lessons for over ten years. She prides herself on tailoring lessons to each student's needs. Everyone learns concepts and material differently and Keely is a true chameleon when it comes to adapting to the individual student. A lover of all music, Keely specializes in a healthy classical technique that can be applied to all genres/styles whether you are singing/playing musical theatre, pop, rock, or classical.

Together we will hone and develop your natural vocal/piano abilities in a nurturing and supportive environment conducive to growth and learning. Keely focuses not only on proper technique but also helps students build confidence in themselves as performers. She helps foster creative thinking while working on sight-reading, language exploration, story telling, and character analysis.

She holds a Masters of Music in Vocal Arts from the University of Southern California as well as Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and Bachelors of Art in Art History from Lawrence University/Conservatory of Music.

"We started lessons with Keely when my child was 6. Aside from helping my daughter sing more in tune, Keely has also helped with rhythm, music theory, and diction, all while being fun, high energy, and always so kind. When we transitioned to virtual lessons in March, I wasn’t sure if my child would be receptive, but Keely is fantastic and makes virtual lessons as fun and productive as in-person lessons. We look forward to every lesson and my daughter is always walking on air afterwards.

Keely is a truly wonderful piano teacher.  She has worked weekly with our daughters - now ages 11 and 8 - over the course of the last two years and has given them a solid foundation in reading and playing piano music. She has incredible patience, is dedicated and consistent with the energy she brings to our lessons, and most recently, seamlessly made the transition from in-person to virtual lessons when the health landscape required that to happen.  We're very grateful for the musicality she has brought to our household over the years!

"Keely has taken the time to get to know our daughter, her strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, and she makes effective use of the lesson time, finding music our daughter enjoys (musical theater), as well as challenging her with music she might not otherwise have been exposed to. Keely is very encouraging, abounding in patience, and a lot of fun to work with. Our daughter loves her lessons!
